About the Role

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the Executive Team, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. This role assumes a strategic position in the overall management of the company, encompassing financial planning, budgeting, accounting, revenue cycle oversight, grant compliance, and risk management. The CFO will ensure financial compliance with federal and state regulations from HRSA and CMS, working closely with the CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors to ensure financial stability and support the organization’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Lead finance, accounting, IT, and Credentialing teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
  • Provide strategic financial leadership to support the organization's mission and growth.
  • Advise the CEO, executive team, and Board on financial performance and risk.
  • Recommend strategies to enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts.
  • Implement effective internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory laws for financial and tax reporting.
  • Build strong relationships with senior management to understand needs and provide business solutions.
  • Manage financial forecasting, budgeting, consolidation, and reporting processes.
  • Ensure proper reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
  • Optimize Revenue Cycle performance.
  • Complete Uniform Data System (UDS) reports by February annually.
  • Complete Medicare Cost Reports by May annually.
  • Complete Audit reports by May annually.
  • Manage TCHGME.
  • Process Drawdowns monthly.
  • Complete MCVR annually by July.
  • Complete CHPMCVR annually by July.
  • Complete Medicaid Cost Reports (AHCF) annually by October.
  • Complete Form 990 annually by November.
  • Prepare Budget Operating/Capital annually by October.
  • Prepare monthly Financials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Master’s degree and/or CPA required.
  • Ten or more years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in the federally qualified healthcare arena.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and manage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and creative skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Proficiency in Windows environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel is preferred.
  • Experience with FQHC cost reporting and PPS reimbursement preferred.
  • Familiarity with Uniform Guidance and single Audit requirements.
