About the Role
Support a client living with a spinal cord injury in his own home in London SE1. This role focuses on encouraging independence, building routine, and supporting community access, rather than purely task-based care. It's a meaningful live-in role for someone with a positive attitude who enjoys motivating others, building rapport, and providing calm, consistent support. Full training and ongoing support from an experienced nurse-led clinical and care team are provided.
Responsibilities
- Support with access to the community, including walks, outings and appointments
- Encourage routine, structure and independence
- Provide personal care as required, while promoting independence
- Offer mobility support, including walker, wheelchair and transfers
- Assist with general wellbeing, motivation and companionship
- Help maintain a clean, organised home environment
- Communicate effectively and maintain care records
- Follow the client’s care plan and agreed routines
Requirements
- Male carer required due to the need to provide personal care (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1)
- Kind, dependable and confident supporting someone in their own home
- Willingness to learn, a common-sense approach and the ability to follow the client’s lead
- Calm, approachable and reliable
- Proactive and encouraging, without being overly directive
- Comfortable working in a live-in care role
- Confident supporting someone in the community
- Respectful of independence and personal space
- Good communicators who can build rapport easily
- Organised, naturally tidy and attentive to routine
- Willing to complete Paragon’s training and follow care guidance
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Salary/Compensations
- £152.18 per day
