About the Role

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer provides operational and consultative support for the University's IAM services. This role focuses on configuration, troubleshooting, service reliability, and automation for authentication, authorization, and security technologies, rather than custom software development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day operational support for IAM services including MFA, access provisioning, authentication, and authorization.
  • Troubleshoot access, login, certificate, and provisioning issues in coordination with support teams and stakeholders.
  • Configure and maintain IAM services, security controls, role-based access, and PKI-related services.
  • Support Linux-based IAM service hosts and cloud-hosted components through patching, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Develop scripts, reports, and automation to improve operational efficiency and service reliability.
  • Provide secondary support for SSO and federation technologies including SAML, OAuth, and OIDC.
  • Participate in a shared on-call rotation for critical IAM services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3 years of related experience in identity and access management, information security, systems administration, or application support.
  • Experience supporting production systems and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Background check required upon conditional offer.
