About the Role
The Manufacturing Shop Hand assists skilled production personnel with the fabrication, assembly, finishing, and movement of materials within the facility. This role is designed for individuals seeking a career in metal manufacturing and fabrication.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Follow work instructions, production schedules, and safety and quality standards
- Move and organize raw materials, tools, and finished products
- Perform basic material preparation including cleaning, grinding, sanding, and deburring
- Assist fabricators, welders, machinists, assemblers, and finishers with daily production
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely
- Assist with packaging, labeling, and preparation of products for shipment
- Support inventory and material handling activities
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Willingness to learn manufacturing processes and shop procedures
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Capability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
- Ability to work in environments with noise, dust, and moving machinery
- Must pass a non-DOT drug screening, criminal and credit background check, and driver license check
