About the Role
The Department of Records/Municipal Library seeks a responsible individual to analyze library procedures and protocols, implement improvements, and manage collections, cataloging, database management, and reference services. The role may involve staff supervision and reporting on performance measurements, as well as moving and lifting heavy materials.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes library procedures and protocols
- Implements improvements to comply with standards and/or best practices
- Performs work in collections management
- Performs cataloging
- Performs database management
- Performs reference and research services
- May supervise staff
- May report on performance measurements
- Involves moving and lifting heavy cartons and books
Requirements
- Must be permanent in the Associate Public Records Officer title or reachable on the current civil service list.
- A master's degree from an accredited college in Library Science, Archival Science, American History, Political Science or a related area, plus two years of full-time experience in archival or library science, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity of incumbents performing at a professional level.
- Education and/or experience equivalent to the above, but all candidates must have a master's degree from an accredited college and the one year of supervisory experience.
