About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Head of IT and Systems to manage the reliability, security, and scalability of our internal technology. This role balances strategic planning with direct technical execution, including device management, infrastructure projects, and vendor oversight as we scale.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-user device fleets across Mac and Windows environments using MDM platforms.
- Lead complex systems projects such as Google Workspace migrations and restructures.
- Oversee MSP and technology partner relationships, ensuring service quality and SLA compliance.
- Administer core business systems including identity management, SaaS applications, and security tooling.
- Maintain IT security fundamentals such as patching, access controls, and conditional access policies.
- Collaborate on security and compliance frameworks like Cyber Essentials, GDPR, and ISO 27001.
- Develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans for core systems.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for new employees.
- Build scalable IT processes and documentation to transition from reactive support to proactive infrastructure.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for IT issues.
- Manage the IT budget, procurement, and vendor contract negotiations.
- Define and report on IT KPIs and SLAs.
- Oversee office IT, network infrastructure, and meeting room AV setups.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing Apple/Mac fleets using MDM solutions like Kandji or Jamf.
- Strong hands-on experience with the Windows/Microsoft ecosystem, including Entra ID and Intune.
- Direct experience leading Google Workspace migrations or major administrative projects.
- Experience managing MSP or outsourced IT support relationships.
- Solid background in general systems administration, networking, and endpoint security.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on capacity within a fast-moving team.
- Experience working in a scaling business environment.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset.
- Working knowledge of security and compliance frameworks like Cyber Essentials and GDPR.
- Experience developing backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
