About the Role
FISA-OPA is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to support the Database Management Team within the Financial Systems division. This role involves hands-on administration, operational support, performance tuning, and disaster recovery for mission-critical financial applications in a complex enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
- Administer Oracle 19c databases across production and non-production environments on AIX/Linux platforms.
- Support Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Perform database installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Support Oracle RAC environments including monitoring and patching.
- Execute database refreshes, schema migrations, and data movement using Oracle Data Pump.
- Coordinate with application development teams for releases and production implementations.
- Troubleshoot complex database issues including performance, connectivity, and batch processing failures.
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis.
- Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Analyze and tune SQL performance for online, reporting, and batch workloads.
- Utilize performance tools such as AWR, ASH, ADDM, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- Implement and troubleshoot RMAN backup and recovery procedures.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and validation.
- Develop and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts for automation and health checks.
- Monitor database storage, capacity, and resource utilization.
- Support database security administration and audit compliance.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and off-hours maintenance.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Database 19c administration.
- Experience with Oracle database administration on AIX 7.3 and Red Hat Linux 9 or above.
- Proficiency in Oracle RAC 19c administration and patching.
- Experience with SQL performance tuning and execution plan analysis.
- Strong Unix/Linux shell scripting skills, preferably Korn shell.
- Experience with RMAN backup and recovery and Oracle Data Pump.
- Familiarity with Veritas NetBackup or similar enterprise tools.
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration.
- Experience with capacity planning and disaster recovery procedures.
- Familiarity with enterprise workload automation tools like Broadcom d-Series.
- Ability to participate in 24x7 on-call support and emergency response.
