About the Role

The Special Projects Unit is seeking a Strategic Project Manager to provide operational, strategic, and administrative support to the Office of the Vice President, focusing on advancing unit priorities and improving organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between the Vice President and unit staff to facilitate communication and resolve operational challenges.
  • Support strategic planning, change management, and business process improvement projects.
  • Develop and strengthen operational systems and project management processes.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and analyze divisional performance metrics and service delivery outcomes.
  • Manage sensitive and high-priority matters, including personnel issues and correspondence.
  • Represent the Vice President and the Special Projects Unit in meetings and interdepartmental collaborations.
  • Lead and manage special projects and additional assignments.
  • Perform related duties in support of departmental operations and strategic objectives.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or related activities.
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or related activities.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least one year of relevant community work experience.
  • NYCHA employees must have served one year at their current location and in their current title to be eligible for transfer or promotion.
