About the Role
The Deputy Chief Asset & Capital Management Officer (CACMO) will support the CACMO in leading and managing the Asset & Capital Management (A&CM) Division, ensuring strategic alignment, and overseeing major initiatives to enhance the Division's effectiveness. This role requires a strong commitment to public service and affordable housing, with excellent strategic, analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a thought partner to the CACMO on strategic issues and division-wide strategies, priorities, and performance management.
- Attend meetings with executives and senior staff, ensuring effective agenda-setting, preparation, and follow-up.
- Prepare outputs or briefing materials for effective engagement within or on behalf of the Division.
- Represent A&CM and the CACMO in key meetings and on major issues.
- Address high-priority requests and urgent coordination needs, collaborating with senior staff internally and externally.
- Manage internal, NYCHA-wide, and external communication from the Office of the CACMO.
- Maintain communication with staff, community groups, elected officials, and interagency partners.
- Identify and coordinate implementation of policy, procedural, and systems improvements within AC&M departments and cross-divisionally.
- Manage the Office of the CACMO, including staff and activities, and directly oversee specific staff.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four (4) years of satisfactory, responsible, full-time experience in a large government agency or business firm with programs in the field of housing, real estate/management, housing construction, engineering or a related field.
- At least eighteen (18) months of experience in a responsible administrative, consultative, managerial, or executive capacity.
- Candidates with permanent civil service status in the titles of Administrative Staff Analyst and Administrative Housing Development Specialist will also be considered.
- NYCHA employees applying for transfer, promotional, title or level change opportunities must have served a period of one year at current location and in current title and level (if applicable).
