About the Role
The Scheduler supports the Division of Bridges Project Delivery Group by planning, developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules for capital projects. This role monitors contract capacity and terms, evaluates schedule performance, and collaborates with project managers, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure project health and accurate forecasting.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, including Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules.
- Support the Chief Scheduler in planning activities and developing time estimates.
- Review consultant and contractor schedules and narratives for compliance and reasonableness.
- Support schedule-related evaluations of change orders, delays, and impacts.
- Participate in meetings with project teams, City agencies, consultants, and contractors.
- Assist in developing conceptual schedules and duration estimates during project planning.
- Support post-construction evaluations related to schedule performance.
- Act as the point person for the Mayor's Office of Operations Capital Dashboard.
- Provide support to the capital budget team regarding project phase alignment with funding.
- Track status of certificates to proceed, procurement delays, contract expirations, and change order progression.
Requirements
- Must be serving permanently in the title or be reachable on the open-competitive list.
- Baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, urban planning, business administration, or related fields plus one year of full-time project management experience.
- Alternatively, a high school diploma plus five years of relevant project management experience.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience are accepted.
- Ability to drive a city motor vehicle; valid New York driver's license preferred.
