About the Role

The Kings County District Attorney’s Office (KCDA) seeks a potential candidate to join its Human Resources Unit as an HR Associate. This role supports the daily operations within Human Resources, overseeing personnel matters for prospective, current, and former employees.

Responsibilities

  • Perform HR duties including employee verifications, coordination of traveling personnel folders, affidavits, employment letters, filing, and report generation.
  • Interface with various departments and staff to handle and troubleshoot incoming inquiries and issues.
  • Coordinate with bureau management and designated staff to troubleshoot HR related matters.
  • Assist the recruitment unit with pre-screening resumes, interview coordination, interview folder preparation, reference checks, and background checks.
  • Support the Onboarding and Benefits unit with coordinating new hire orientations.
  • Maintain personnel data through filing documents and data entry into the internal HRIS system.
  • Facilitate the replacement of lost or damaged employee/intern identification.
  • Assist with special projects such as recruitment fairs, benefits packages, employee events, and phone coverage.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and at least two years’ full-time work experience in a Human Resources environment; or
  • An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and three years of full-time work experience in a Human Resources environment.
