About the Role

The Outreach and Training Specialist will initiate and foster connections with childcare providers, community and faith-based organizations, medical and health care providers, government agencies and others, with a focus on neighborhoods served by the 2Care initiative. This role reports to the Director of Outreach & Staff Development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct trainings, virtual or in-person to parents, medical providers, community-based, faith-based, and city-agency partners about the EI Program.
• Create trainings, resources, and materials using PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office programs, Articulate and other programs.
• Responsible for timely completion of forms, preparation of outreach materials, and data collection and generating monthly reports.
• Perform outreach in the evening or on weekends across the five boroughs as needed.
• Demonstrate an accurate understanding of the EI Program.
• Work and collaborate as a team member with other Outreach and BEI staff.

Requirements

• ONLY PERMANENT EMPLOYEES IN THE TITLE AND THOSE THAT ARE REACHABLE ON THE PUBLIC HEALTH EDUCATOR CIVIL SERVICE LIST ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY.
• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of full-time satisfactory experience in developing public health education programs, presenting public health education programs, or counseling in specific areas.
• A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in public health education, education, public/community health administration, public administration or business administration and one year of full-time satisfactory experience.
• For Assignment Level II: Two additional years of full-time satisfactory experience (total of four years with a baccalaureate degree, or two years with a master's degree).
• For Assignment Level III: Three additional years of full-time satisfactory experience (total of five years with a baccalaureate degree, or three years with a master's degree), with at least one year in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
