About the Role

As a SAP Basis Authorization Manager at BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH, you will be responsible for the SAP authorization management, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements. You will manage and coordinate external SAP Basis service providers, collaborate with application owners and business units, and optimize SAP authorization roles and concepts across the entire SAP system landscape. This role is crucial for maintaining a stable and secure SAP environment as the company transitions towards renewable energy and decarbonization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage SAP authorization management and ensure compliance with security and compliance requirements.
  • Control and coordinate the external SAP Basis service provider regarding quality, service delivery, priorities, escalations, and agreed service levels.
  • Collaborate closely with SAP application owners, business departments, and external service providers to ensure stable and secure SAP operations.
  • Create, analyze, and optimize SAP authorization roles and authorization concepts across the entire SAP system landscape.
  • Perform regular authorization checks, recertifications, and SoD analyses (Segregation of Duties) and initiate necessary measures.
  • Monitor compliance with security policies and compliance requirements in the SAP environment.
  • Coordinate and support audits as well as internal and external audits related to SAP authorizations.
  • Be responsible for the technical acceptance and quality assurance of the SAP Basis service provider's services.
  • Manage technical requirements, changes, and operational developments together with the service provider and internal stakeholders.
  • Support release changes, migrations, and projects regarding authorization concepts and security requirements.
  • Document processes, policies, and operational procedures and continuously develop them.
  • Advise business departments and project teams on topics related to SAP authorizations, role models, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification is required.
  • Several years of professional experience in SAP Basis Administration, particularly in the area of authorizations.
  • In-depth knowledge in the creation and management of SAP authorization roles.
  • Experience in collaborating with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
  • Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Very good German and English skills, German is the working language.
