About the Role
As the company scales rapidly to meet demand, it is looking for an execution-driven Director, Origination to lead high-impact transactions and uncover new growth opportunities through partnerships. This is a high-upside opportunity for a deal-maker at heart who thrives in high-stakes negotiations, working alongside leadership on the company's most important transactions and partnerships. This role requires sharp analytical instincts with a bias for action: someone who takes ownership, moves fast, and delivers on large, complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic transactions
- Serve as a trusted advisor to tax and finance leaders at Fortune 500 companies, guiding them through their first or largest tax credit purchases
- Source, qualify, and prioritize origination opportunities across clean energy developers and manufacturers
- Own the negotiation of complex, multi-hundred-million-dollar tax credit transactions, keeping deals on track and resolving issues proactively
- Build partnerships and pipeline
- Build the partnership playbook, defining who to engage, how, and when
- Manage and grow a book of relationships with tax credit investors, project developers, and industry partners
- Represent the company at industry events and client visits
- Translate market feedback into recommendations that sharpen the company's origination strategy and offerings
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in a fast-paced, deal-focused environment such as financial services or a fast-growing startup
- Track record of owning outcomes, spotting issues early, and driving solutions in customer-facing environments
- Experience leading complex negotiations or transactions from first conversation to close
- Very high attention to detail paired with sharp written and verbal communication
- A growth mindset and the drive to go above and beyond: someone who seeks out steep learning curves and runs toward big challenges
