About the Role
Tissue Bank Associates are responsible for receiving and accessioning biospecimen shipments, managing inventory databases, and maintaining laboratory cleanliness and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Receive and check human biospecimen shipments against manifests
- Handle dry ice and liquid nitrogen for frozen samples
- Accession samples into the inventory database
- Perform periodic specimen location checks and data verifications
- Communicate with collection sites for data clarification
- Perform fresh tissue grossing, digital pathology tasks, and slide scanning
- Maintain and clean lab freezers and equipment
- Order laboratory supplies and reagents
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Adhere to regulatory compliance and quality system requirements
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to commute to South San Francisco, CA 94080
- Familiarity with basic lab settings and PPE usage
