About the Role

Operate and set up CNC woodworking machines to fabricate wood parts for millwork products, contributing to daily output and meeting department KPIs while maintaining safety and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and tend CNC machine, editing programs as necessary.
  • Ensure correct feed speeds and Tool RPMs are used.
  • Optimize programs to increase productivity.
  • Perform quality checks on products and parts, scrutinizing goods to maintain process and product standards.
  • Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to correct problems and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Mill material based on product specifications, work orders, blueprints, and drawing requirements.
  • Read and interpret specifications and/or follow verbal instructions.
  • Load/unload and operate CNC using lifting assist devices safely.
  • Remove and replace worn parts, bits, or shaping tools.
  • Set up new tools as required.
  • Comply with Riverside policies, Health and Safety Program, and Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Perform general cleanup of the production area.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and replace parts as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma is preferred.
  • WHMIS and Health & Safety Awareness Training (HSAT).
  • 2+ years CNC Operator experience.
  • Previous woodworking experience is an asset.
  • Previous manufacturing / general production experience is an asset.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more repetitively.
  • Ability to bend at the knees and waist.
  • Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to grasp objects with your hands.
  • Ability to twist at your hips.
  • Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Ability to pull and push raw / finished material.
  • Ability to maintain balance while lifting and moving product.
  • Relevant knowledge of safe work practices including the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Knowledge of production processes, raw materials, and quality control.
  • Knowledge of woodworking tools and machines.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic and other mathematical applications.
  • Ability to handle and move objects for production.
  • Ability to read.
