About the Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in building our Databricks-based analytics platform. You will create scalable pipelines, robust data models, and structures that empower teams to make better decisions daily. This role is ideal for those who combine technical excellence with pragmatism, want to take responsibility, and understand data engineering as a true business lever.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end data engineering, developing scalable, stable pipelines based on modern Databricks standards, from Delta/Medallion architectures to orchestration, monitoring, and data quality.
- Modeling data to work for everyone by building reusable data models and a clean semantic layer structure, defining metrics, and ensuring clear interpretability.
- Creating scalable BI structures by establishing standards and governance structures within the Databricks environment.
- Reducing technical debt and increasing productivity by identifying complexity and building pragmatic, clean, and future-proof structures.
- Prioritizing, making decisions, and setting clear guidelines for sustainable growth.
- Empowering stakeholders by working closely with business, marketing, product, and data analytics teams, understanding requirements early, and translating them into scalable technical solutions.
- Supporting teams in working reliably and independently with data.
- Working directly with the Head of Analytics to contribute to the vision of making decisions at Zasta data-driven and measurably contributing to growth and profitability.
Requirements
- Several years of experience with Databricks (SQL/Warehousing) and building efficient, stable pipelines including orchestration, monitoring, and data quality.
- Strong modeling and KPI/metrics competence.
- Experience building scalable BI/Analytics structures with proven direct contributions to company goals.
- German language skills at C1 level are required for communicating complex issues organization-wide and moderating decisions.
- Ability to communicate requirements clearly.
