About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for Critical Care/Anaesthetic trained airways trained Junior Doctors to join our Resident Doctors team at The Harley St Clinic. Build partnerships with consultants, learn from specialist nurses, and be part of critical care pathways. The Harley St Clinic Hospital admits a vast range of complex cases, offering a great team environment for sharing specialist knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day Critical Care Ward and ITU units, providing medical care from admission through to discharge.
  • Independently manage medical care of inpatients, including clerking new admissions, daily ward rounds, and responding to medical emergencies.
  • Deliver medical procedures as required, including vascular access, airway management, acute pain management, ventilation management, and optional procedures like chest drain insertion.
  • Participate in the ward Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
  • Take part in audits and training to continuously improve excellence for staff and patients.

Requirements

  • MBBS medical qualification.
  • Fully registered with the GMC and hold a current license to practice.
  • NHS Trained Intensive care medicine or Anaesthesia to ST5 and above, or equivalent.
  • Able to manage complex airways competently unsupervised and train/support others.
  • Able to demonstrate teaching and mentoring of junior doctors.
  • Must hold a current ALS certificate.
