About the Role

The FCA is seeking a technical authority for the ServiceNow platform to provide guidance, define architectural direction, and ensure the stability and scalability of the platform. This role sits within the Core Technology team, focusing on delivering foundational capabilities that support the FCA's mission as a digital-first, data-led regulator.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical authority for the ServiceNow platform, providing guidance to stakeholders.
  • Define the future direction of the platform through clear architectural designs.
  • Review proposed solutions to improve quality and reliability before production release.
  • Monitor platform performance to identify opportunities for efficiency and user experience improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by implementing optimisation opportunities.
  • Resolve complex platform challenges by identifying root causes and implementing long-term fixes.
  • Develop and deploy high-value enhancements to support operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Proven experience on the ServiceNow platform with knowledge of new technologies.
  • Experience as an architect delivering high-level technical designs, architecture artefacts, and roadmap governance.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and implementing technology solutions from concept to production.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership on complex requirements and translate business needs into scalable solutions.
  • Experience converting technical initiatives into clear user stories and deliverables.
  • Ability to forge effective working relationships with stakeholders and team members.
  • Experience gathering and reviewing business, technical, and operational requirements.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and psychological safety.

Salary/Compensations

  • National (Edinburgh and Leeds): £74,900 to £85,000 per annum
  • London: £82,300 to £95,000 per annum
