About the Role

Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Power BI reporting and data models to enable informed, data-driven decisions across the organization. Work closely with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into robust Power BI solutions, contributing to impactful reporting that supports fundraising optimization and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to understand business objectives, gather reporting and business intelligence requirements, and document solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI datasets and reports that support decision-making across the organisation.
  • Build and optimize robust data models (including star schemas) to support scalable and high-performing reporting solutions.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries in Snowflake to extract, transform, and prepare data for reporting and analysis.
  • Develop and maintain DAX measures and calculations to deliver reliable and insightful reporting outputs.
  • Lead BI and reporting development projects, delivering high-quality KPI reporting and analysis.
  • Communicate reporting and insights clearly to stakeholders to drive understanding, impact, and informed decision-making.
  • Investigate and resolve data inconsistencies, ensuring reporting outputs remain accurate, consistent, and trusted.
  • Ensure all work follows established processes, governance standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, data quality, and governance, and collaborate with team members to implement improvements.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across the organisation, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues to increase the effective use of data and reporting tools.

Requirements

  • Significant experience using Power BI, including creating advanced data models (star schema), data flows, and DAX language.
  • Relevant experience manipulating a broad range of data sets and writing complex SQL queries for reporting or insight generation.
  • Significant experience in reporting and data analysis techniques and statistics, ideally within a complex marketing and communications landscape.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Experience leading and delivering projects with proven impact, demonstrating excellent project management and planning skills.
  • Proven ability to act as a trusted partner to stakeholders, leading requirements-gathering sessions, challenging assumptions, and translating requirements into reporting/business intelligence solutions.
  • Strategic skills including analysis, structured thinking, and logical reasoning.
  • Strong accuracy and numeracy with good attention to detail.
  • Evidence of proactive behaviors, ability to work independently, challenge own performance, invest in own development, and find innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey expertise engagingly.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and work as part of a team.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
