About the Role

This role is responsible for establishing, enhancing, and continuously improving risk management capabilities within the assigned local market under RGA’s Enterprise Risk Management framework. The position provides independent oversight of risks, ensures adherence to the Risk Appetite and Tolerance Framework, and promotes an effective risk culture through collaboration with regional and corporate stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and operation of the ERM program in the local market.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of risk management in collaboration with regional financial and operational risk teams.
  • Lead the consistent adoption of corporate risk governance while adhering to local regulatory requirements.
  • Support local management in identifying, assessing, and managing risks to ensure sustainable business growth.
  • Lead local risk-related communications to regional risk management.
  • Implement regional and corporate risk management initiatives locally.
  • Manage local market Risk Committees to strengthen oversight and escalate issues.
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries and orders.
  • Develop and maintain a forward-looking compliance risk framework.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in enterprise risk management or related fields.
  • Experience with risk and control self-assessments, emerging risks, and key risk indicators.
  • Proficiency in Japanese and English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong PC and technical skills, including spreadsheets and presentation software.
