About the Role

The role ensures robust financial control, compliance, and efficiency across the group. You will oversee critical functions including group audit, tax compliance, statutory reporting, consolidations, and financial integrations while championing process improvements and technology implementation to drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and support the management accounts team
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Maintain responsibility for general ledger accuracy, reconciliations, and internal reporting packs
  • Lead the monthly management accounts review process
  • Lead the annual group audit process and act as liaison with external auditors
  • Maintain and strengthen the internal control framework
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and statutory reporting requirements
  • Oversee UK and US corporate tax compliance
  • Coordinate with tax advisors and manage relationships with tax authorities
  • Support monthly and annual group consolidation
  • Prepare and oversee statutory accounts for legal entities
  • Maintain transfer pricing documentation and ensure arm’s length intercompany transactions
  • Oversee timely submission of statutory accounts, tax filings, and regulatory returns
  • Monitor global accounting and tax legislation changes
  • Support integration of acquired businesses into the finance function
  • Align accounting policies and reporting processes across acquired entities
  • Support system integration and onboarding of local finance teams
  • Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, controls, and reporting
  • Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and financial close acceleration
  • Champion technology and AI tools for automation
  • Partner with FP&A and Commercial Finance on planning and analysis
  • Support and guide regional and global finance teams through change
  • Provide senior-level financial insight and deputise for the Group FD

Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience
  • Experience leading audits and group consolidations in global, multi-entity, and multi-currency environments
  • Strong knowledge of UK and US tax compliance
  • Knowledge of IFRS, FRS 102, and US GAAP
  • Experience in private equity-backed businesses, ideally in the Consulting sector
  • Demonstrated success leading finance transformation or systems change initiatives
  • Strong leadership and team management background
  • Effective communicator and collaborator across functions and regions

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Advanced to expert Microsoft Excel skills
