About the Role
The Maintenance Planner plays a critical role in ensuring efficient and effective maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for developing, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime. The role involves close collaboration with maintenance technicians, engineers, and production teams to prioritize work orders and allocate resources appropriately. The Maintenance Planner III also analyzes maintenance data to identify trends and recommend improvements to maintenance processes and asset management strategies. Ultimately, this position contributes to the overall operational excellence by supporting a proactive maintenance culture that enhances productivity and safety.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed maintenance plans and schedules for all manufacturing equipment and facilities.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams and production departments to prioritize and assign work orders based on urgency and resource availability.
- Monitor and track maintenance activities to ensure timely completion and compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Analyze equipment performance data and maintenance records to identify recurring issues and recommend preventive measures.
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure availability of necessary parts and materials for scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing insights and feedback on maintenance processes and asset management.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance plans, schedules, and completed work for reporting and audit purposes.
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and scheduling software.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to effectively coordinate with multiple teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related discipline.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Certification in Maintenance Planning or Asset Management (e.g., Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional - CMRP).
- Familiarity with ERP systems integration for maintenance planning.
- Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement projects in maintenance operations.
