About the Role

The Controllers division is responsible for safeguarding the firm's assets and ensuring the accuracy of financial and regulatory information. This role supports the Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) segment, focusing on long-term investment objectives and ensuring business practices comply with financial and regulatory requirements worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high-quality financial reporting that meets applicable accounting principles and regulations.
  • Maintain accountability for JGAAP & USGAAP financial reporting, disclosures, and audit support.
  • Manage local regulatory reports under applicable local laws.
  • Perform control functions for financial reporting, collaborating with AWM, Tax, Compliance, Legal, Corporate Treasury, Operations, and external parties.
  • Conduct regular reviews of new and existing transactions for accounting treatment and control considerations.
  • Provide variance analysis and prepare monthly/quarterly management reporting packs.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Native level in Japanese and business level in English.
  • Strong accounting knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Self-starter with a strong analytical and detail-oriented mind-set.
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly.

  • Ability to handle competing deadlines.
  • Tertiary education or above.
