About the Role

This role is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of medical samples, consumables, and information, requiring excellent communication and meticulous record-keeping. The position involves driving various vehicles and may include manual handling.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the safe and timely movement and transportation of medical samples, consumables and medical information.
  • Maintain the highest standards through excellent communication with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Record tasks and items delivered and collected using electronic and paper-based forms.
  • Carry out courier journeys to various locations and to agreed routes and timings.
  • Complete digital and manual documentation required by legislation and organizational procedures.
  • Maintain regular contact with the operations office using a range of communication systems.
  • Ensure all items are always kept safe and secure.
  • Comply with the Road Traffic Act and other relevant legislation while driving.
  • Act as customer contact at delivery points and relay relevant information to the operations office.
  • Complete vehicle checks prior to use and notify any defects to the Operations Office.
  • Act in a polite and courteous manner to customers and road users.
  • Perform heavy lifting/manual handling of equipment and goods as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

  • Familiar with the local and surrounding areas.
  • Held a Full UK Manual Driving Licence for a minimum of 12 months.
  • No more than 6 penalty points on driving licence.
