About the Role

This role provides legal oversight for the Company’s Responsible AI program, focusing on developing, implementing, and improving AI policies, standards, and controls. It involves providing thought leadership, conducting legal reviews of AI use cases, and offering strategic advice on AI development, procurement, and deployment, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and executes legal oversight of the Company’s Responsible AI program.
  • Develops, implements, and continuously improves enterprise AI policies, standards, and controls.
  • Provides thought leadership and project leadership on AI governance initiatives.
  • Participates in enterprise Responsible AI committees and cross-functional working groups.
  • Conducts legal review and risk assessment of AI use cases.
  • Evaluates data sources, model behavior, outputs, and intended business applications.
  • Partners with technical, cybersecurity, privacy, and business stakeholders.
  • Provides strategic legal advice on AI and generative AI tools development, procurement, and deployment.
  • Focuses on legal and regulatory compliance, data protection, intellectual property, and risk mitigation.
  • Reviews and negotiates AI vendor contracts.
  • Monitors and interprets emerging AI legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Translates legal and regulatory requirements into actionable internal governance frameworks, controls, and guidance.
  • Drafts and maintains AI governance documentation.
  • Delivers training and guidance across the organization.
  • Supports cross-functional AI governance initiatives and issue escalation.

Requirements

  • 8-years professional experience in a specialized area of law.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze legal materials and data.
  • Excellent legal research and analytical abilities.
  • Knowledge of federal and or state law.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of legal principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to apply legal principles to complex assignments.
  • An LLB or JD from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions.
