About the Role
The Risk & Data Security Manager will own the day-to-day execution, auditing, and continuous improvement of risk management frameworks and data protection policies. This role ensures global policies and processes are robust against various risks, balancing a secure environment with supporting responsible AI innovation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the Enterprise Risk Register, collaborating with risk owners to identify, assess, and implement mitigation controls.
- Maintain risk management tools to measure probability and impact accurately.
- Investigate, monitor and record risk events, proactively raising organizational awareness of threats and driving post-mortem reviews to prevent recurrence.
- Manage the organization’s global insurance coverage portfolio.
- Support the Head of Legal & Risk in preparing materials for the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC), including the Quarterly Risk Report.
- Act as the internal champion and primary operational contact for data protection (eg GDPR).
- Manage the day-to-day relationship with our external Data Protection Officer (DPO).
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments and risk reviews on new products, platforms, and vendors.
- Maintain the global compliance tracking framework.
- Coordinate international filings for review by the Head of Legal.
- Partner across the org to ensure data security best practices are baked into our architecture, policies are robust and regularly reviewed, and are appropriately audited.
Requirements
- 4+ years in risk management, compliance, or data protection.
- Strong foundational knowledge of data protection and basic data security principles.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, impact driven environment.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with experience of delivering through colleagues.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a knack for spotting operational vulnerabilities and designing simple, elegant controls to fix them.
