About the Role
This high-profile role is responsible for developing and executing strategic media programmes that enhance the firm's reputation, support business objectives, and position the organisation and its senior leaders as trusted voices in the market. You will manage proactive and reactive media engagement across a broad range of topics, including corporate finance, M&A, debt and equity capital markets, financing solutions, sustainability, market trends, and major client transactions.
Responsibilities
- Handle media enquiries around IBCM transactions
- Develop and deliver media relations strategies supporting the global and UK Investment Banking and Capital Markets franchise
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key financial, business, and national media
- Identify and secure high-quality media opportunities for senior executives and subject matter experts
- Lead communications planning for major transactions, strategic initiatives, and market announcements
- Draft and review press releases, statements, media briefings, Q&As, opinion pieces, and executive messaging
Requirements
- Solid experience in media relations for investment banking clients
- Established network of media contacts
- Proactive approach to work
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, and respond to media enquiries outside 9-5 normal working hours
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Proven ability to manage internal stakeholders with complex requirements
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs
