About the Role
Manage vital investments to deliver high-quality, sustainable, and energy-efficient homes for Lancaster West Estate residents, taking full ownership of commercial and cost management aspects of major capital housing investment programs.
Responsibilities
- Manage expenditure on up to twelve active projects.
- Balance cost plans and ensure funding timelines are met for green sustainability schemes.
- Conduct site inspections.
- Certify valuations.
- Raise purchase orders within financial systems.
- Collaborate with project managers to align budgets.
- Address contractor performance challenges.
- Secure grant funding to meet deadlines.
- Guide contract administration.
- Resolve commercial risks.
- Line manage and develop a junior member of the commercial team.
- Ensure residents receive top-quality, low-energy homes.
- Uphold strict health, safety, and financial regulations.
Requirements
- Hold a degree or master's in quantity surveying.
- Possess industry experience in a similar position.
- Have a balanced background from both private and public sectors.
- Extensive experience in contract administration and cost management for complex housing or planned investment programmes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced capabilities in Excel to analyze tender returns and produce detailed monthly expenditure reports.
- A positive, forward-thinking attitude.
- Comfortable actively moving around construction sites unaided during inspections.
