About the Role

Manage vital investments to deliver high-quality, sustainable, and energy-efficient homes for Lancaster West Estate residents, taking full ownership of commercial and cost management aspects of major capital housing investment programs.

Responsibilities

  • Raise purchase orders within financial systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers to align budgets.
  • Address contractor performance challenges.
  • Secure grant funding to meet deadlines.
  • Guide contract administration.
  • Resolve commercial risks.
  • Line manage and develop a junior member of the commercial team.
  • Ensure residents receive top-quality, low-energy homes.
  • Uphold strict health, safety, and financial regulations.

Requirements

  • Hold a degree or master's in quantity surveying.
  • Possess industry experience in a similar position.
  • Have a balanced background from both private and public sectors.
  • Extensive experience in contract administration and cost management for complex housing or planned investment programmes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced capabilities in Excel to analyze tender returns and produce detailed monthly expenditure reports.
  • A positive, forward-thinking attitude.
  • Comfortable actively moving around construction sites unaided during inspections.
