About the Role

We are looking for a Compliance Manager with insurance sector experience and solid compliance advisory skills to join us as we grow our product suite in insurance, payments, and consumer credit. This role involves acting as a trusted partner to the first line of defence, providing clear, actionable advice on complex regulatory matters and financial crime rules. You will bring agility and pragmatism to solve problems creatively and proportionately for our Insurance, Consumer Credit, and Cashback Card products.

Responsibilities

  • Provide second line of defence advice and oversight to ensure policies, procedures, and processes align with business objectives and regulatory expectations.
  • Offer routine compliance support for matters including process design, scripts, financial promotions, complaint inquiries, and conduct issues.
  • Support, oversee, and advise on incidents, ensuring appropriate corrective actions and improved controls.
  • Support assessments of internal control effectiveness and mitigation of gaps.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports to the FCA and other relevant bodies, including Suspicious Activity Reports.
  • Support upward management and committee reporting on compliance matters.
  • Act as a business partner to the first line of defence, educating on compliance and serving as a contact for regulatory queries.
  • Collaborate with Legal & Compliance colleagues to coordinate perspectives and manage differing regulatory approaches.
  • Develop and deliver training to promote compliance awareness and a culture of good customer outcomes.
  • Support change initiatives driven by internal needs or regulatory developments.
  • Scan the horizon for regulatory news and developments, sharing analysis to support business awareness and preparedness.

Requirements

  • Solid compliance advisory experience in the insurance sector.
  • Second-line defence experience in a compliance role within financial services.
  • Essential experience working with general insurance products.
  • Exposure to other consumer financial services products (e.g., Consumer Credit, Cashback Card) is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance.
  • Financial crime knowledge and experience is a massive plus.
  • Proven track record of identifying compliance-related risks and opportunities and implementing proportionate responses in a changing environment.
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory jargon into straightforward, actionable advice.
  • Sharp eye for detail in reviewing scripts, financial promotions, or process design.
  • Agility and pragmatism to find appropriate business solutions.
