About the Role
This role will own and execute the end-to-end smart meter adoption portfolio, ensuring UW hits installation targets while improving customer experience and operational efficiency. This includes developing targeted engagement campaigns, managing performance against rollout KPIs, and aligning smart metering with UW’s broader growth strategy.
Responsibilities
- Drive the smart meter strategy by conducting precise customer targeting, segmentation, and operational analysis to identify new adoption opportunities.
- Monitor industry and regulatory changes to ensure long-term strategic alignment.
- Maintain full project leadership over smart metering initiatives from concept to completion, tracking milestones, risks, and dependencies to deliver on time.
- Partner with Marketing to design, deliver, and evaluate smart meter acquisition and behavioural change campaigns.
- Develop customer incentives, propositions, and messaging that enhance journeys and boost conversion rates.
- Own smart meter rollout KPIs, providing clear, data-driven performance updates and risk analysis to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with Data and Technology teams to leverage automation, analytics, and AI-driven solutions to optimise delivery.
- Spearhead initiatives to reduce failed appointments and eliminate operational barriers.
- Act as the primary business lead for smart meter adoption, building strong ties across Operations, Marketing, Commercial, and Customer Service.
- Coordinate activity and align strategic goals with third-party metering partners and suppliers.
- Lead cross-functional working groups and governance forums to drive best practices across the business.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of regulated industries and smart metering.
- Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional projects, programmes, or initiatives from planning through to delivery.
- Ability to work independently, execute tasks autonomously, or act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Exceptional presentation, communication, and influencing skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities across diverse teams.
- Experience using data and analytics to identify opportunities, manage risks, and drive performance improvements.
- Experience driving customer engagement or behavioural change campaigns.
- Knowledge of operational performance management and KPI reporting.
- Experience collaborating with and managing third-party suppliers and partners.
