About the Role

This role is a dynamic and has both a strategic and operational delivery focus. It is pivotal in delivering people-first solutions that enable our staff and volunteers to thrive. Acting as a trusted advisor the Business Partner will take the lead on complex workplace matters while championing positive change and continuous improvement ensuring best practice, compliance, and a human-centred approach in everything we do.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and best-practice P&C advisory support to leadership teams, driving the successful delivery of business programs, projects, and organisational initiatives
  • Advise and coach managers, staff, and volunteers on workplace complaints and grievances, leading complex investigations and recommending appropriate actions to key stakeholders
  • Develop and conduct effective wellbeing and wellness initiatives throughout the organisation
  • Design and implement organisational change initiatives in collaboration with P&C Managers ensuring best-practice change management and effective support for employees throughout the transition
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of P&C services to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and stakeholder experience
  • Collaborate with specialist teams including Recruitment, Payroll, WHS and the P&C Shared Services teams

Requirements

  • Comfortable partnering with leaders at all levels of the organisation to provide guidance across the full employee lifecycle
  • Able to manage challenging conversations with confidence and professionalism
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced & complex environments
  • Confident providing expert guidance on workforce matters
  • Helping create a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace
  • Working knowledge of Modern Awards (in particular SCHADS), Fair Work Act, and National Employment Standards
  • Ability providing advice and recommendations relevant to legislative frameworks across best practice methodology
  • Contemporary approach to stakeholder engagement
  • Build trusted partnerships to influence decision-making
  • Deliver pragmatic, evidence-based P&C solutions aligned to strategic and operational objectives
  • Sound technical knowledge and expertise in operational Human Resources (HR)
  • Experience project planning and implementation including experience in leading processes of workplace change amidst restructures and business transformation activity
  • Sound analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate and interpret data to make considered and ethical decisions
  • Ability to clearly describe the rationale behind decisions and recommendations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage, support, challenge and influence
  • Working with internal stakeholders to problem solve providing pragmatic, best practise solutions to emerging people issues
  • Ability to provide quality P&C advice and internal consultancy support which are directly related to the organisation’s strategic direction and business needs
  • Ability to coach and upskill managers to effectively manage people issues within their teams
  • Sound technical knowledge and experience in interpretation and application of industrial instruments
  • Ability to work under general direction from senior employees
  • Ability to work independently and with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to create a collaborative working environment
  • Ability to set priorities, plan and organise their own work to manage and support the competing needs of the client group and P&C initiatives
