About the Role
As the hotel's senior leader overnight, you will be responsible for guest satisfaction, financial accuracy, hotel security, operational decision-making, and ensuring the property is perfectly prepared for the following day.
Responsibilities
- Act as the senior manager on duty for the entire property, delivering exceptional guest service and resolving concerns confidently and independently.
- Complete all Night Audit and End of Day procedures, including banking and cashier reconciliations, room rate and folio reviews, and revenue adjustments.
- Monitor arrivals, departures and reservations overnight, and manage wake-up calls, late arrivals and other overnight requests.
- Conduct regular security patrols, monitor emergency procedures and verify key control to keep the hotel safe and secure.
- Complete comprehensive handovers, Duty Manager logs and operational reports for the morning leadership team.
- Work closely with Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage and Front Office to prepare the hotel for a seamless morning operation.
- Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns before they impact guests.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Night Manager, Duty Manager or Front Office Supervisor, ideally in a premium or boutique hotel.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience completing Night Audit and hotel financial reconciliations.
- A calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure, whether it's a difficult guest, a maintenance issue or a security incident.
- A genuine ownership mindset, comfortable making decisions and running the hotel independently overnight.
- Exceptional attention to detail, from reporting accuracy through to lobby presentation and morning readiness.
- Strong knowledge of Opera Cloud PMS and an understanding of hotel security, emergency procedures and WHS requirements.
