About the Role
As an Audit & Accounting Specialist, you will be part of our Financial Accounting & Controlling team in Berlin, working closely with local and international colleagues across Finance, Tax and Shared Services. In this role, you'll contribute to statutory reporting, audits and finance transformation initiatives while helping us continuously improve our accounting processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end statutory audit process, from planning and fieldwork through to sign-off and filing, in close collaboration with external auditors.
- Prepare annual financial statements (Jahresabschluss) according to HGB, including notes (Anhang) and the management report (Lagebericht), while supporting accurate Group reporting under IFRS.
- Support month-, quarter- and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and compliance with Group accounting policies.
- Partner with Finance, FP&A, Tax, FinOps and our outsourced service partner to resolve accounting matters and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
- Identify and resolve accounting issues and technical judgements, balancing local statutory requirements with Group reporting standards.
- Drive continuous improvements to accounting and closing processes, with a focus on automation, efficiency and data quality.
- Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, assessing the accounting implications of new business initiatives and supporting projects such as e-invoicing and the onboarding of new payment service providers.
Requirements
- Minimum 5–7 years of professional experience in Accounting and Audit with strong knowledge of HGB and IFRS.
- Proven track record of independently executing and managing statutory audits.
- Enjoy taking ownership and working independently while collaborating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Analyze complex topics and communicate them clearly and concisely to different audiences.
- Good Excel skills and experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system; experience with reporting tools is a plus.
- Fluent in English and professional working proficiency in German.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to professionalism and integrity.
