About the Role
As a Lead Architect within the Infrastructure Platforms Digital Workflows Product Line, you will own the architecture for a defined area of the ServiceNow platform. You will guide teams toward secure, resilient, and outcomes-driven designs while partnering with product, engineering, and control stakeholders to define target-state architecture and ensure solutions meet firm standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead ServiceNow platform and solution architecture from discovery through delivery and continuous improvement.
- Define target-state architectures, reference designs, and reusable patterns for workflow, data models, CMDB, and identity strategy.
- Facilitate architecture governance, design reviews, and documentation of decisions.
- Partner with engineering teams to translate non-functional requirements into implementable designs.
- Own integration strategy between ServiceNow and external systems using APIs and middleware.
- Identify architectural risks and develop mitigation plans and phased roadmaps.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to manage dependencies and deliver business outcomes.
- Mentor engineers and architects through design coaching and constructive review.
- Champion automation and engineering excellence to improve platform reliability.
- Optimize platform performance through instrumentation, monitoring, and capacity planning.
- Leverage enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate architecture discovery and decisioning.
Requirements
- 5+ years of applied experience in infrastructure architecture.
- Deep knowledge of ServiceNow architecture, data model design, and security roles.
- Proven ability to define and socialize target-state architectures and integration patterns.
- Strong command of modern integration approaches and distributed system design.
- Experience designing for non-functional requirements including resiliency, scalability, and security.
- Ability to evaluate trade-offs across scope, risk, and cost.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Track record of producing high-quality architecture documentation.
- Commitment to inclusive teamwork and clear communication.
- Experience applying enterprise-authorized AI capabilities in software engineering workflows.
- Ability to integrate AI-enabled capabilities into cloud-native architectures.
