About the Role
As an integral member of our Magnet Nursing team, the successful RN candidate will be focused on patient advocacy and delivering the highest quality of care to our patients. Working in an evidence-based nursing environment that commands excellence every day; you will have a strong patient centered approach with emphasis on providing exemplary and world-class customer service.
Responsibilities
- Critical care, clinical competence
- Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative nursing care to pediatric and adult patients
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to patient change in condition such as Cardiac rhythm or respiratory distress in the post operative phase.
- Care for the patient’s post-surgery recovery by observing patients for side effects of anesthesia
- Monitoring patient’s level of consciousness throughout sedation recovery
- Communicates appropriate information and patient advocacy regarding pre-operative / post operative conditions to those who require the information including surgeons and anesthesiologist
Requirements
- 1+ years’ of acute care experience
- Critical care experience
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing
- NYS RN license and registration required
- AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certification required

- Assess and interpret age specific and population-specific data
- Provide appropriate communication levels, treatment and care
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
- Promote the highest standards of care and safety
- Integrate patient care standards in all clinical activities
- Participate in performance improvement activities
- Maintain sensitivity and awareness of cultural and religious diversity
