About the Role

As an engineer in NVIDIA's Hardware IP Security team, you will play a vital role in protecting intellectual property by helping engineering teams build secure-by-default workflows and environments, crafting training materials, implementing security policies and methodologies, and investigating threats. This is a hands-on contributor role for someone who excels in an independent, fast-paced environment and is comfortable with requirements, development details, and organizational tasks. You will understand security industry standards, enable others to follow them, define priorities, plan schedules, and build relationships with other teams. Extensive collaboration with Security, Hardware Engineering, and IT partners will enable you to improve existing practices and policies, and reduce the impact of security requirements on engineering productivity.

  • Investigate newly discovered threats to the integrity of NVIDIA's security infrastructure
  • Understand security industry standards and enable others to follow those standards
  • Define priorities, plan schedules, and build relationships with other teams
  • Improve existing practices and policies
  • Reduce the impact of security requirements on engineering productivity

Requirements

  • Bachelors, Masters in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Mentality of improving the productivity and work experience of internal customers
  • Strong threat-modeling experience, including data flows, trust boundaries, STRIDE-style analysis, and translating findings into mitigations
  • Ability to prioritize practical risk reduction in a fast-moving engineering environment
  • Experience securing Linux-based on-prem or cloud infrastructure at scale, including authentication, authorization, hardening, patching, logging, and incident response
  • Comfortable presenting to and working with senior management to convey risk and work to prioritize mitigation
