About the Role
Remedy Robotics is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to design key components of a novel, life-saving surgical robot. This role involves participating in the entire design cycle, from conceptualization to production, and contributing to the development of advanced robotic systems for endovascular intervention.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanisms for a surgical robot and for single-use surgical tools.
- Participate in the entire design cycle, including the development of conceptual and detailed designs for prototypes, pilot machines, and production machines.
- Generate specifications, component drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Participate in subsystem level testing including the development and execution of test plans as well as data collection and analysis.
- Leverage experience and engineering judgment to rapidly design and produce proof of concept hardware for fast-moving research and development projects.
Requirements
- 2+ years of industry experience.
- Recent experience designing mechanisms.
- Strong mechanical design, integration, and analysis skills using 3D modeling (e.g., OnShape, Solidworks) and structural methods (e.g., beam deflection, FEA).
- Ability to work with hand tools and prototyping equipment.
- The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Excitement for Mechanical Engineering and an eagerness to continue learning.
- Experience integrating electrical components into mechanical designs (motors, sensors, electrical connectors, wiring harnesses).
- Thermal analysis experience.
- Design for injection molding.
