About the Role
Nursing attendants at NewYork-Presbyterian serve as invaluable care providers, partnering with nurses and other staff to monitor patient vitals, ensure meal delivery, and provide safe transport. This role focuses on compassionate patient care, maintaining a safe environment, and improving the overall patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Monitor blood pressure and temperature of patients
- Ensure the delivery of meals
- Provide safe transport for patients
- Perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment
- Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration, and blood pressure
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association is required
- Previous Nurse’s Aide experience in a hospital setting OR Certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program OR Current enrollment in a BSN program - at the junior year level and/or completion of at least one clinical practicum
- Must live within a commutable distance to NYP
