About the Role
As a Frontier Industry Advisor – Capital Markets, you will help Microsoft’s most strategic Capital Markets customers define and execute AI-led transformation agendas. This role is responsible for originating industry-led business opportunities and executive conversations that connect measurable business outcomes to Microsoft cloud, data, AI, security, productivity, business applications, and partner capabilities. You will serve as the Capital Markets industry subject matter expert, engaging senior business decision makers to identify, generate, and nurture transformational opportunities across the front, middle, and back office.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the capital markets industry subject matter expert for digital and AI transformation, account planning, and partner business planning.
- Engage business leaders, global systems integrators, ISVs, solution partners, and Microsoft account teams to align Microsoft capabilities with customers' strategic priorities.
- Bring a multi-year industry perspective on digital and AI transformation.
- Provide thought leadership on global industry trends and ecosystem opportunities, influence key decision makers, and help accelerate adoption of Microsoft technologies through long-term strategic planning and execution.
- Lead multi-horizon planning and develop industry-focused roadmaps aligned to customer business and technology priorities.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior and executive-level customer and partner stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted industry advisor by applying deep knowledge of customer strategies, market dynamics, technology trends, and Microsoft's industry point of view.
- Identify customer needs, industry readiness, and business-value opportunities across the capital markets value chain.
- Lead industry-focused conversations that position Frontier AI as a driver of capital markets transformation, connecting Microsoft technology to measurable outcomes.
- Apply an outcomes-first approach that starts with business objectives and aligns process, architecture, data, AI, security, governance, and change-management requirements to enable enterprise-scale transformation.
- Collaborate with account teams, industry solution teams, partners, and internal stakeholders to build and mature pipeline opportunities.
- Conduct customer and market research to identify high-value opportunities for AI, cloud, and agentic workflow technologies.
- Represent the capital markets industry perspective in customer engagements and help shape a shared vision for transformation across front-office decisioning, middle-office controls, back-office operations, risk and compliance, data and analytics platforms, and market infrastructure.
- Identify, advance, and scale high-impact Frontier AI opportunities.
- Help customers move from AI pilots to enterprise-scale transformation by modernizing operating models, redesigning workflows, strengthening data foundations, and embedding responsible AI, security, and governance at scale.
- Develop business value cases and serve as a trusted advisor to expand strategic opportunities across business lines and regions.
- Collaborate with account teams, business strategy leaders, business development managers, solution architects, technical specialists, consulting teams, and partner organizations to plan, orchestrate, and execute customer opportunities.
- Leverage the Microsoft partner ecosystem to solve complex capital markets challenges and demonstrate how Microsoft cloud, data, AI, security, productivity, business applications, and partner solutions work together to drive business outcomes.
- Coordinate with commercial, legal, compliance, engineering, and customer success teams to establish strategic partnerships and advance customer transformation initiatives.
- Maintain deep knowledge of Microsoft and industry-relevant solutions, capital markets trends, regulatory and policy developments, and competitive landscapes to serve as a trusted industry expert.
- Provide insights across sales, marketing, engineering, and industry teams on emerging trends, customer needs, and sales blockers to help shape future solutions and strategies.
- Advise and present to industry and customer communities, mentor less experienced colleagues, and actively pursue ongoing learning to deepen industry and customer expertise.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 3+ years customer-facing experience in financial services, management consulting, consultative selling, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 5+ years customer-facing experience in financial services, management consulting, consultative selling, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience OR equivalent experience.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 7+ years customer-facing experience in financial services, management consulting, consultative selling, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 10+ years customer-facing experience in financial services, management consulting, consultative selling, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years proven people management and/or leadership experience.
- 7+ years of experience in consultative sales, advisory, strategy, business development, transformation, or technology leadership capacity, either directly within the Capital Markets industry or with enterprise technology, fintech, data and analytics, market infrastructure, management consulting, systems integrator, or advisory firms serving Capital Markets clients.
- Experience may include work with sell-side institutions, buy-side firms, financial market infrastructures, exchanges, clearing and settlement organizations, data and analytics providers, payments organizations, wealth and asset management firms, digital asset platforms, private equity firms, hedge funds, securities services, custody, risk, compliance, trading, research, or post-trade operations, with a focus on driving digital transformation through cloud, data, AI, Frontier AI, automation, security, and modern platform capabilities.

- USD $107,600 - $187,500 per year (typical base pay range across the U.S.)
- USD $145,600 - $205,600 per year (typical base pay range in San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area)
- USD $133,000 - $222,700 per year (typical base pay range across the U.S.)
- USD $170,300 - $239,800 per year (typical base pay range in San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area)
