About the Role
As a Principal Electrical Engineer in the energy space, you will support the delivery of current and future Energy and Transport projects. You will have experience with strong HV design, earthing assessment and power system modelling capability, able to take ownership of defined work packages, produce high-quality technical documentation, and interface effectively with clients, OEMs and internal disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Work independently to deliver electrical engineering design packages across HV and LV scopes, maintaining quality, programme and stakeholder expectations while applying sound judgement to make good delivery and technical decisions.
- Lead small to medium complex technical work packages in areas such as primary substation design, earthing assessment and power system studies, with accountability for outputs, coordination and successful delivery.
- Apply expertise, knowledge and experience using tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, ETAP and CDEGS to develop practical, innovative and compliant solutions that resolve technical challenges and support business priorities.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, DNSPs, OEMs and internal disciplines, collaborating to add value, manage interfaces and support successful project outcomes.
- Provide clear direction, technical guidance and review to junior team members or colleagues where required, supporting team development, effective delegation and stronger capability across the business.
- Apply Safety in Design principles, relevant legislation, standards, Our Code and PRIDE values to deliver safe, efficient and fit-for-purpose engineering outcomes and role model expected behaviours.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, proposals and tactical initiatives by improving repeatable workflows, strengthening professional networks and aligning technical delivery with business objectives.

- Hold relevant qualifications in electrical engineering.
- Have applied knowledge and expertise on relevant projects, building a track record of delivering high-quality, excellence-driven results.
- Confident and capable engineer who enjoys taking ownership of work, applying sound judgement and delivering safe, high-quality outcomes across HV design, earthing and power system studies.
