About the Role
This is a newly created fixed-term role to provide additional resource to the HR Operations team during a busy period. The role involves advising employees and managers on employee relations, coaching managers, and supporting core HR processes like contractual changes and HRIS record management. You will act as a trusted advisor on HR policy, employment processes, and contractual matters, ensuring accurate and sensitive query resolution in line with company policy and legislation. The role also contributes to continuous improvement in HR Operations through data accuracy, process enhancement, project support, and promoting equity, inclusivity, and diversity.
Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and colleagues on HR policy, contractual matters, employment processes, and day-to-day people issues, applying sound judgment and escalating higher risk matters appropriately.
- Manage employee relations casework end-to-end, including absence management, performance, disciplinary, grievance, and flexible working requests.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and GDPR-compliant HR records, case files, right to work evidence, and contractual documentation, identifying and resolving or escalating risks.
- Support the transition of HRIS from Cezanne to HiBob, ensuring data quality, processing system changes, producing reports, and assisting colleagues with HR systems and processes.
- Lead or contribute to HR projects, cyclical activities, and process improvements, coordinating input and sharing learning.
- Respond to HR Inbox queries, provide clear, customer-focused advice, take ownership of resolution, and identify opportunities to improve colleague experience.
- Uphold and promote company values, supporting equity, inclusivity, and diversity, and undertake other reasonable duties to support effective business operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a busy HR team is required.
- Strong capability across HR operations, HRIS, employee lifecycle processes, records compliance, and first-line ER advice.
- Credible, discreet, and customer-focused with the ability to build trusted relationships and manage a busy workload independently.
- Previous experience using HiBob systems for core HR is ideal.
- Experience delivering HR operational processes across the employee lifecycle.
- Good knowledge of HR policy, employment law, and contract law.
- Experience advising managers on employee relations and people management matters, with sound judgment on when to escalate risk or complexity.
- Confident HRIS user, able to maintain data quality, produce reports, and support process improvement or automation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting clear correspondence, guidance, and process documentation.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification is preferred but not essential.
