About the Role
EDF Renewables North America is seeking interns to contribute to clean energy solutions across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. This role offers a front-row seat to one of North America's leading renewables teams, providing an understanding of how to take a clean infrastructure project from ideation to operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with permitting, land control, and project management tasks for new wind, solar, and energy storage projects.
- Support the investment thesis for new projects and markets, including cost-benefit and financial analysis.
- Assist in preparing project review and approval presentations, with opportunities to present to subject matter experts and management.
- Review Power Purchase Agreements to understand contractual impacts on project development and economics.
- Monitor news and market reports to identify competitor activities and assess potential risks to EDFps’ portfolio.
- Identify potential locations for new projects using GIS software and assess site value.
- Conduct research and draft responses for community inquiries regarding solar, wind, and energy storage projects.
- Research benefits and opportunities for siting solar projects on farmland and create marketing content.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or Graduate Degree in Business, Science, Renewable Energy, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and PowerBI.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional team collaboration.
- Curious and proactive in asking questions and investigating issues.
- High attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Skills
- Understanding of the multi-disciplinary work in renewable energy project origination and development.
- Familiarity with the renewable energy project lifecycle from origination to construction handoff.
- Experience working collectively as a team and managing multiple tasks.
- Potential involvement in utility-scale wind, solar, and/or energy storage projects.
