About the Role

BDO’s Sydney Digital Consulting team is seeking a Senior Consultant to help clients successfully transition to the Dayforce platform and improve their payroll, workforce management, and employee lifecycle processes. This role involves leading high-quality Dayforce payroll implementations across the full lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design to configuration, testing, stakeholder engagement, and client readiness. You will contribute to complex client engagements, mentor consultants, and deliver practical, compliant, and sustainable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful implementation of Dayforce payroll solutions for BDO clients, ensuring delivery is aligned to agreed scope, timelines and quality standards.
  • Partner with client stakeholders to gather, document and validate functional requirements, translating business needs into effective system design.
  • Configure payroll rules, awards, classifications, allowances, leave provisions, timesheets and workforce management settings to support accurate and compliant outcomes.
  • Provide clear project status updates, including risks, issues, dependencies and recommended resolution pathways.
  • Support organisational readiness activities to help clients prepare for successful rollout, adoption and transition to business-as-usual operations.
  • Deliver effective client training and knowledge transfer to enable teams to confidently perform day-to-day activities.
  • Manage multiple client and project engagements simultaneously while maintaining strong delivery discipline and stakeholder confidence.
  • Capture lessons learned and best practices to strengthen internal delivery capability and improve the client experience.
  • Maintain current Dayforce knowledge through release training, product updates and relevant certifications, acting as a trusted subject matter expert.
  • Travel to client site (as required)

Requirements

  • More than two years’ experience in systems implementation, ideally with successful delivery of payroll, workforce management or HCM solutions.
  • Strong process mapping and business analysis capability, with the ability to identify improvement opportunities and design efficient future-state workflows.
  • Sound analytical judgement to assess client requirements, identify pain points and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions aligned to business objectives.
  • A strong commitment to quality, best practice and regulatory compliance across payroll and implementation delivery.
  • Proven capability leading client workshops and meetings, facilitating productive discussions and presenting solutions with confidence.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust across client and internal stakeholder groups.
  • A developing or established reputation as a trusted payroll or HCM subject matter expert who can guide both clients and colleagues.
