About the Role
We are seeking an energetic Structural Project Manager passionate about the repair and restoration of existing buildings. This role supports projects from evaluation and design through construction, including assessment, design development, bidding, and construction administration.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage internal kick-off, milestone, and closeout meetings.
- Verify schedules and ensure adherence to project plans and timelines.
- Conduct on-site inspections, documenting existing conditions, performing field testing, photographing, and creating hand-sketches.
- Observe and track work in progress to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Record accurate field measurements and perform calculations.
- Prepare written correspondence with clients and contractors.
- Understand investigation reports and bid documents, including drawings and technical specifications.
- Communicate project status and proactively address issues.
- Escalate unresolved issues to their direct supervisor.
- Maintain organized records, files, drawings, and project data.
- Collect post-project feedback and communicate it to their direct supervisor.
- Keep up to date with job knowledge and industry trends.
- Engage in networking activities and represent the company at events.
- Seek marketing opportunities to promote the organization’s presence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Perform complex inspections and testing.
- Generate detailed field reports and opinion reports.
- Produce accurate and comprehensive documents based on thorough understanding of specifications and plans.
- Understand and interpret technical contract requirements.
- Review and evaluate change orders.
- Review payment applications, verifying accuracy.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Independently plan, organize, and run project meetings.
- Work closely with the team to understand scope of work, budget, goals, deliverables, and timeline.
- Mentor and provide guidance to Project Associates.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an engineering consulting firm or related construction industry.
- Parking Garage restoration experience is preferred.
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Safe operation and use of ladders, scaffolds, and other access equipment.
- Ability to work safely at heights.
- Exposure to prolonged periods outdoors.
- Ability to work in diverse weather conditions, including temperatures above 85°F or below 40°F, high humidity levels, and adverse weather like snow/ice, rain, and wind.
