About the Role

Provide counseling, crisis intervention, consultation, outreach, and referral services to students to support their emotional well-being, personal development, and academic success. Foster an inclusive environment that promotes wellness, resilience, and student success.

Responsibilities

• Provide short-term individual counseling and mental health support to students.
• Conduct intake assessments and develop appropriate treatment recommendations.
• Provide crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
• Make referrals to community-based providers and resources.
• Consult with faculty, staff, administrators, and parents regarding student well-being concerns.
• Develop and facilitate educational workshops and outreach programs.
• Participate in campus-wide initiatives promoting mental health awareness.
• Collaborate with Student Development, Residence Life, Public Safety, and other departments.
• Attend occasional evening or weekend programs and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or other appropriate field.
• Minimum of 2 years professional experience in student affairs, mental health counseling, or social work, specifically with college-age populations and emerging adults.
• Experience in suicide prevention and intervention training (e.g., ASIST, QPR).
• Experience providing crisis intervention and threat/risk assessment.
• Experience supporting students with substance use concerns, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and adjustment issues.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
• Knowledge of FERPA, HIPAA, and ethical standards.
• Familiarity with Title IX, student conduct processes, behavioral intervention teams (BIT), CARE teams, and higher education compliance practices.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
