About the Role
Deliver bespoke 1:1 mentoring sessions to learners with SEND, including Autism, ADHD and SEMH, using creative and engaging approaches tailored to each learner's interests to support re-engagement with education and future planning. Deliver ASDAN Life skills programmes to foster confidence and independence. Build positive relationships and foster confidence in learners.
Responsibilities
- Deliver bespoke 1:1 mentoring sessions to learners with SEND, including Autism, ADHD and SEMH.
- Use creative, engaging approaches tailored to each learner’s interests to support re-engagement with education and future planning.
- Deliver ASDAN Life skills programmes to support the development of confidence and independence.
- Build positive relationships and foster confidence in learners.
Requirements
- Relevant Level 2 qualification OR an equivalent youth work qualification OR very strong professional youth work experience.
- At least 2 years of experience mentoring SEN learners, with a track record of promoting engagement and supporting transitions.
- Ability to build trust and foster positive relationships with every learner.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and a willingness to complete any mandatory training necessary in this area.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to obtain).
- Ability to travel to learner locations.
- Dedication to making a long-term difference in learners' lives.
