About the Role
New Castle Metal is seeking a Sheet Metal Technician for their Hicksville, NY location. This role involves working with state-of-the-art equipment to produce high-quality architectural sheet metal. While experience is a plus, motivated individuals ready to learn are encouraged to apply, as training is available.
Responsibilities
- Program and operate CNC folding and shearing machines to fabricate light gauge architectural sheet metal components.
- Solder and work with various metals with precision and care.
- Maintain and monitor equipment to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to unload deliveries and manage material handling using a forklift.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace at all times.
- Flexibly support additional tasks and duties as needed to meet team goals.
Requirements
- Mechanically inclined with a strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Strong customer service mindset and ability to communicate effectively.
- Basic mathematical skills required.
- Ability to take accurate measurements and read technical drawings is a plus.
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Forklift certification is a plus; training is available.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
