About the Role
The Senior Research Accounting Officer is a key position within the Research & Innovation Finance team, responsible for the financial management of research grants. This role serves as a business partner for the financial management of research grants in specific Schools, providing professional, customer-focused advice and support to researchers and Schools.
Responsibilities
- Provide post-award financial administration for a portfolio of research and enterprise projects.
- Act as a business partner to budget holders in managing their project budgets.
- Ensure timely collection of research income through invoicing, raising claims, and funder reporting.
- Ensure all research collaborators are paid according to grant terms and conditions.
Requirements
- Extensive experience and knowledge in a similar role, ideally within the higher education sector.
- Demonstrated customer focus.
- Strong planning and prioritization skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in the use of the Agresso system.
- Competency in Microsoft Excel for analytical and business partnering tasks.
