About the Role

Assist Ambulance is seeking passionate individuals to join as Motor Vehicle Operators (MVOs) in Brooklyn. You will work alongside Emergency Medical Technicians, providing Basic Life Support and exceptional emergency medical services. This role involves patient interaction, lifting, carrying, and safely operating an ambulance throughout the five boroughs.

Responsibilities

  • Drive an ambulance safely throughout the five boroughs.
  • Assist Emergency Medical Technicians in providing Basic Life Support.
  • Interact with patients and staff members.
  • Lift and carry patients.
  • Complete CPR certification by date of hire.
  • Complete two driving assessments.
  • Undergo a 10-panel drug screening.
  • Undergo a lifting assessment.
  • Obtain 19A physical clearance and a negative PPD test.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have 2 years of driving experience in New York City.
  • Must possess a valid New York State D Class driver’s license.
  • Must have no more than 6 points on your driving abstract.
  • DJ licenses and out-of-state licenses are not accepted.
  • Must be physically fit to lift 125 lbs.
  • Must be able to commit to at least two 8-hour shifts per week (steady shifts).
  • Must be good with people.
  • Must be able to act responsibly under extreme duress.
  • Applicants' criminal history will be considered consistent with the requirements of the New York City Fair Chance Act.

Salary/Compensations

  • 5% annual raises
  • $1/hr bonus after 90 days for working 32+ hours or more any pay period
